Waybill Tracking Client Server Database

You may to choose to use a file-based or client / server-based back end. WAYBILL TRACKING uses a Sybase product called Advantage Database. This SQL solution offers much better performance than Microsoft SQL or Oracle for a fraction of the cost. The product is scalable to several hundred users and can handle extremely large tables. File structures are identical in both peer-to-peer and client / server environments. Because the database is self tuning, there is no need for a high-end DBA.

Advantage Database comes in five, ten, fifteen, twenty-five or fifty user configurations. Upgrades are available from one license level to the other. The five-user version sells for $645. Hardware Requirements

Our software is written for the Microsoft Windows operating system. We can run on any flavor of Windows Desktop or Server product. If you use the optional client / server back end, your server must be any Windows Server product. Processor, memory and disk requirements for workstations are minimal if you use the client / server back end.

Waybill Tracking may be hosted remotely using Microsoft Terminal Services or Citrix Server. Additional licensing fees may apply.

An outside ISP hosts WEB LINK data. A Windows-based background program is used on your server to periodically FTP data to the ISP. No customers ever access your computers directly. This greatly decreases your security risks.

We can offer a secure socket link to your web site for POD data, but this is generally not needed because only very basic client information is hosted.
