Creating a Custom Form Size for Printing

In order to successfully print forms in XP, you need to change your printer driver's paper size to accommodate
the label you're printing on. This note explains how to change the paper size in Windows XP.

If your printer is on a WINDOWS SERVER, STEP 1 first. If not, scroll down and follow STEP 2.

STEP 1

1. Click on the Windows Start button and choose Printers and Faxes. (NOTE: you can also find this under the Control Panel)

2. From the File menu, select Server Properties

3. Click on the box Create a New Form

4. Change the "Form Name" to "Custom Waybill"

At the bottom of the Server Properties window there will be an area to adjust the width and height of your paper size.
Make the appropriate changes. For example, 8.50in wide, 8.50in height, and 0.00in margins.

5. Click OK to leave the Server Properties window

6. Right-click on the DOT MATRIX printer you're using, and select Properties

7. Click on the Printing Preferences button under the General tab

8. Click Advanced...

9. Click on the underlined paper size, then change the paper size to the name you defined in Server Properties.

10. Click OK a few times to exit this dialog box.

11. Make sure your printer is selected. Select your custom paper size. Click OK, then click OK again.

STEP 2: Add your printer to your WORKSTATION.
1. Click on the Windows Start button and select Printers and Faxes. (NOTE: you can also find this under the Control Panel)
